Top Gun is a movie that isn’t as good as I remember it being. I love it, but it’s mostly a lot of melodrama, questionable behavior, and aggressive face-sucking squeezed around some really outstanding aerial sequences that are backed by an incredible soundtrack. Every time I rewatch it, I’m sorta disappointed to rediscover this fact. But I keep revisiting it because the fighter jet scenes are so great.
I’m also obviously a fan of the bromances and quotable dialogue.
